Visualisation Diagram 
Rough diagram used to plan a product 
Diagram is static- hand- drawn or produced on design software = not moving
Shows the proposed design of a test in some detail 
Used to assess financial and logistic viability of creative team's design 

Flat Plan/Wire fame 
2D drawing which represents how all elements are laid out in a print or web based test 
Includes all elements which will be in the final product 
Allows designer to see proportions of each element are correct and that all required elements are included. 
Detail of each aspect is not included - purely a layout tool with each element labelled 
Also be used to plan the layout of a TV studio, prior to cameras coming in
Quick and easy to modify so that layout changes can be made with minimal fuss.

Prototype 
Early model of a media product 
Particularly used in interactive media such as video games/Websites 
Allows early testing of product to ensure product meets the client and user needs, as well as has functionality 
Not include all the stylistic elements required in the final product, the key core functional elements should be working 


Page mock-up 
- similar to flat plans/wireframes, but content and colour schemes
- shown to clients to gain feedback before the final version
- used in print and online media
- new software means the page mock ups for interactive products now often include their interactive elements - this is now becoming a hybrid with prototype
